Iconic Broadland Free House
Welcome to the web site of that most celebrated and iconic of all Broadland pubs.
The Pleasure Boat became a Free House in April 2010, and a new Management Team was put in place in January 2011. This team, together with our lovely local staff, have a passion for Real Ales, Great Food, Boats, Wildlife and Pub Entertainment, as well as a love of all aspects of Norfolk and the Broads.
In April of 2011 The Pleasure Boat Inn gained itself a sister pub, when the owners purchased the Nelson Head Free House at Horsey, which is another famous Broadland pub with many quirky similarities to the Pleasure Boat!
Waterside Gardens and Real Ales
Browse through our
pages, and see that we are more than just an ‘Inn by the
Water’. We have historic Links
to Royalty, ample parking, the best views of the 30 acres of
Hickling Broad, wildlife, fishing and boats galore, well loved
gardens and, in winter, a warm restaurant and inviting bar with a
real log fire.
We always have four award winning real ales available to satisfy the most discerning CAMRA palette, and a range of well known lagers and ciders, together with a broad selection of wines.
Locally Sourced Food served Lunch and Evening
We offer a menu using locally sourced food that changes with the seasons. In addition, there are always "Specials" available and, from time to time throughout the year, we offer Theme Nights.
We're a mini General Store
On 1 March 2012 we opened our own shop. Following the closure of all other shops in the village our small general store is a much needed facility. We expect it to prove popular with visiting boaters too.
Entertainment: Music, Quizzes, Darts and Pool
Our entertainment package is musical, original and well thought of by both our locals and holidaymakers. We also have regular quiz, pool and darts nights.
Private Functions
Our restaurant can be the perfect venue for all manner of private functions, from business training and team building events to wedding receptions and birthday parties. See our Functions page for more information.
